Beijing has been the undisputed capital of China since 1644, except for the period 1928-1949. It is located in the north-east of the country, has about 20 million inhabitants and has a number of interesting sights that you can, but actually must, visit. Of course you can take a day trip to the Great Wall of China north of the city, but don’t forget to take a look at the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, Mao Zedong’s mausoleum, the National Museum of China and the Summer Palace. Or visit some nice neighborhoods and enjoy the delicious food at the night markets. In any case, you can easily spend a whole week in this metropolis. So let’s go to Beijing…!
