Angkor Wat is by far the most important attraction in Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Every year millions of people visit this temple complex that dates back to the period 1000-1200 AD. It was the main city of the Khmer and also the capital of an empire that at its height stretched across parts of Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Much of this temple complex, rediscovered around 1860 in the jungles of Cambodia by Frenchman Henri Mouhot, is still in good condition. And that makes Angkor Wat a wonderful sight to see in Cambodia.
