Kampot is a sleepy town in southern Cambodia. The center of the town is characterized by a French colonial architectural style, but does not have much to offer apart from a short walk. For that you really have to explore the area and that is particularly interesting.
You can make a day trip to Bokor Hill and see a number of colonial buildings in ruins. Or you can visit a few caves and take a look at one of the pepper plantations in the area. The latter is definitely a must, as the black pepper from the region used to be loved all over the world. Let’s go to Kampot!
